3-Day Laikipia, Lewa & Ol Pejeta Fly-In Safari

3 daysScheduled group safari

About this journey

The Laikipia plateau, north of Mount Kenya, is where Kenya's conservation story is being written: private and community conservancies such as Lewa, Ol Pejeta, Loisaba and Solio that protect a large share of the country's rhinos. Our Laikipia, Lewa and Ol Pejeta à la carte is a 3-day fly-in safari from Nairobi to the conservancy of your choice.

Choose from 17 camps and lodges, from Lewa Safari Camp and Lewa House to Sweetwaters Serena and Porini Rhino Camp on Ol Pejeta, home to the last two northern white rhinos, and Solio Lodge, one of the best places in Kenya to see rhino. Conservancy camps can offer activities beyond game drives, such as guided walks, night drives and visits to conservation projects.

You fly from Wilson Airport to the conservancy and are met with a shared game drive to your lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon drive. Day two is a full day of shared game drives, and on day three you fly back to Wilson, arriving in the early afternoon. Extra nights can be added at any camp.

Who it suits: travellers interested in conservation, those who want the best chance of seeing rhino, and families looking for activities beyond game drives, such as walking, horse riding and visits to conservation projects.

Ol Pejeta also runs a chimpanzee sanctuary, the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, and lies close to Mount Kenya, so on clear mornings the mountain forms the backdrop. Lewa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with Mount Kenya, is one of the most successful rhino conservancies in Africa.
