Embark on the Mount Kenya Chogoria Naromoru Trek, a 5-day adventure across Kenya’s most diverse and beautiful mountain terrain. Rising to 5,199 meters, Mount Kenya is Africa’s second-highest peak and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It features rugged rock formations, glistening glaciers, and lush forests that make it a dream destination for hikers and nature lovers alike.
This trek follows the scenic Chogoria Route on ascent and the Naromoru Route on descent, giving you two completely different perspectives of the mountain. The Chogoria side is known for its striking valleys, waterfalls, and alpine lakes, while Naromoru offers a faster descent through bamboo forests and high-altitude moorlands. Together, they form one of the most rewarding Mount Kenya trekking experiences available.
At White Horse Safaris, we specialize in organizing safe and enriching mountain expeditions. Our Mount Kenya Chogoria Naromoru Trek is led by certified guides and supported by professional porters and cooks. From start to finish, our team ensures your comfort, safety, and success on the trail.
Each day is carefully paced to allow for proper acclimatization, helping trekkers reach Point Lenana confidently. Moreover, our guides share fascinating insights about the region’s ecosystems, geology, and culture. Along the route, you’ll encounter unique plants such as giant lobelias and senecios, along with wildlife like the rock hyrax, duiker, and colobus monkey.
After a full day of trekking, unwind at scenic mountain camps surrounded by dramatic peaks. Delicious hot meals, fresh air, and starlit skies make for unforgettable evenings in the wilderness. Additionally, our porters handle your gear, so you can focus on enjoying the climb.
The Chogoria–Naromoru route combines adventure and variety in one unforgettable journey. While Chogoria’s side is lush and scenic, Naromoru provides a quicker and more direct descent. Consequently, trekkers enjoy both panoramic beauty and efficiency.
Whether you seek a physical challenge, a connection with nature, or cultural discovery, this Mount Kenya trek delivers it all. Every step offers breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment that lasts a lifetime.
