3-Day Masai Mara Fly-In Safari from Nairobi

3 daysScheduled group safari

About this journey

Our Masai Mara à la carte is a 3-day fly-in safari from Nairobi that you build around the camp of your choice. Scheduled flights from Wilson Airport reach the Mara's airstrips in about 45 minutes, and you can choose from 37 camps and lodges across the reserve and its private conservancies, from Mara Serena and Sarova Mara to Angama Mara, Mahali Mzuri and Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp.

You are met at the airstrip with a shared game drive on the way to camp, arriving for lunch, and head out again in the afternoon. Day two is a full day of shared morning and afternoon game drives, and on day three you fly back to Wilson to connect with your onward plans.

The safari is extendable: add nights at the same camp, with the same activities as day two. Camps in the conservancies, such as Mara North, Olare Motorogi and Naboisho, limit vehicle numbers and can offer night drives and guided walks that are not allowed in the national reserve.

Flights onward are easy to arrange: to Diani's Ukunda airstrip on the coast, directly or via Wilson, or to the Serengeti in Tanzania, with a shared road transfer through the Isebania border for immigration formalities.

Who it suits: travellers short on time, families who want to avoid long drives with children, and anyone combining the Mara with a beach holiday or business trip. It is also ideal if you already know which camp you want to stay at.

Choosing a camp is the most important decision on this trip. Camps in the Mara Triangle and the central reserve are well placed for the migration river crossings, while the private conservancies to the north and east offer fewer vehicles, walking safaris and night drives. Tell us what matters most to you and we will suggest the best fit.
